Q1 2023 | Rental Market

Jul 24, 2023

Rightmove’s data from Q1 2023 indicates the prevailing mismatch between supply and demand will continue in the UK due to the lack of expected new rental properties to come on the market.

Letting agents are grappling with an overwhelming volume of tenant enquiries for each property available, intensifying the competition among tenants striving to secure a home.

Some Key Findings:

  • Tenant demand and enquiries show a 4% increase compared to last year, and a 48% rise in comparison to 2019.

  • Average asking rents in London have exceeded £2,500 (per calendar month).

  • UK rents outside of London average £1,190 per month.

  • The number of properties available to rent 46% below 2019’s level.

Paul Brundell, CEO at Kosy Living said:

“The requirement for high-quality, purpose-built rental homes remains critical. At Kosy, we are committed to making a positive impact by providing innovative and sustainable housing solutions that cater to the growing demand and needs of our communities.

Our contemporary, quality and environmentally conscious co living and built-to-rent properties not only meet the highest standards of comfort and convenience but also prioritise affordability through our bills-included rent model and the health and wellbeing of our tenants.

A home is more than just a physical structure; it is a place where memories are made, and where individuals, couples and families grow. Kosy takes pride in not only providing rental homes but also fostering a sense of community within our properties.
