Glasgow becoming a Hotspot for Co Living and Build to Rent Developments

Kosy Co Living sees Glasgow as the pinnacle area of Scotland to launch a series of Co Living and BTR (Build to Rent) projects. Glasgow gives the ideal mix of culture and diverse communities that would see great benefit from our project developments.

Glasgow is a multicultural city with a population over 600,000 and over one million in the wider Glasgow area, making it the UK’s third largest city. It has a high proportion of young adults, particularly in the 20–34-year-old age bracket. Part of this is due to Glasgow’s large student population with over 70,000 students studying at the four universities alone, with even more studying at the colleges and specialised schools like The Glasgow Art School and The Royal Conservatoire.

As the locals say, ‘People Make Glasgow’. In 2022, Glasgow was voted “the world’s friendliest city” and came in at number four for the “best cities in the world to visit” by Time Out Magazine. It is indeed renowned for its friendly locals, great banter, beautiful green spaces and lively eclectic nightlife. It gained status as a UNESCO world city of music and lives up to it as there are gigs and club nights on every night of the week, covering almost every music genre.

There are lots of festivals and big events on throughout the year from multicultural festivals and food festivals to street art, dance, music festivals and winter wonderlands.Situated on the River Clyde, Glasgow has great transport links to the rest of the country and some of Scotland’s most beautiful rural scenery such as Loch Lomond can be reached in less than an hour.

The cost of living in Glasgow is cheaper than Edinburgh or London, and research suggests that it is the best performing UK city in retaining its graduates alongside Edinburgh. There are some great opportunities for employment in various sectors, which is a huge pull factor for graduates and professionals looking to stay or move to the city. Glasgow is city that thrives on innovation and is home to several Scottish Innovation Centres. It is a leading institute for life science and pharmaceutical research, energy and technology, engineering, software and digital technology, photonics and satellites and many, many more. It also has an International Financial District which recently expanded with the addition of the new Barclays campus.

BTR (Build To Rent) is already making its mark in Glasgow with more cranes in the sky as the city has embraced the build to rent concept due to its severe housing shortage. This city of opportunity with a young age demographic and growing population makes Glasgow the perfect location for BTR (Build To Rent) and co living.

Kosy Co Living can provide affordable, modern and high-quality build to rent and co living rental homes with bills included, fantastic co working spaces and amenities, attracting the city’s graduates and young professionals. Our model enables residents to live in a community, with regular events and areas to meet their neighbours and socialise. Amenities often include a gym, outdoor areas such as roof terraces or garden courtyards, plus bookable dining rooms, cinemas and gaming areas.
