Build-To-Rent - BTR Developments Cambridge

Knight Frank reported the UK’s Build to Rent sector is set to grow 82%, making it worth £102bn by 2028. Cambridge was one of the cities identified to have strong demand drivers yet a relatively small pipeline. Kosy Co Living is keen to bring BTR to the city, delivering required modern rental housing that is filled with amenities and a strong sense of community. 

Cambridge has a population of around 146,000 and more than 40% of the working population have some form of higher qualification which is twice the national average. It is however, one of the most expensive places to buy a home in the UK and is affected by the housing crisis like the rest of country. BTR offers a solution to housing shortages, specifically aimed at those seeking contemporary and well-located rental homes that bring multiple benefits from all-included bills, gym and amenities to outdoor spaces such as roof terraces, and community events. 

Cambridge is a world-class centre for science and technology, and a recent ‘Centre for Cities’ report listed Cambridge as the leader in the UK’s ‘New Economy’, as the city has produced an impressive 20 companies that passed $1 billion in terms of valuation (both private and public enterprises). Other sectors include IT, university and research organisations which are all experiencing employment growth. Kosy Living’s build-to-rent developments will have strong appeal to this working population, as it is suitable for singletons, couples and small families with our various apartment types. 

Cambridge is a beautiful and historic, yet it is also very lively with plenty of activities on offer. It is home to fantastic schools and world-leading universities. The River Cam flows through the city and there are lots of green spaces. This includes over 80 parks and playgrounds, and 12 nature reserves playing an important role in contributing to local biodiversity. 

Cambridge is culturally diverse and has a great range of shops, bars and restaurants. For entertainment, there is plenty of choice from family days out, theatre and art to gigs, clubs and festivals. It is a city well catered for all ages and interests.

Build to Rent Pipelines Growing

As our pipeline grows we are looking to forward fund our larger schemes within the build to rent sector. We have commercial property investments build to rent opportunities for forward funding, equity partners, joint ventures, unconditional funding partners and planning uplift partners. We have opportunities for joint ventures with equity partners as we obtain planning permission with a view to sell or re-finance at PC. We are also sometimes presented with great opportunities for developers where the land owner needs an immediate sale and we are looking to partner with investors who would fund this type of project.
