Glasgow is a large multicultural city with a population of over 600,000 (and over one million in the wider Glasgow area). With a large percentage of young people - particularly 20–34-year-olds – and an increase in demand for housing, this makes it an ideal location for Kosy Co Living to launch our next BTR development.  BTR is already making its mark in Glasgow as the city has welcomed the build-to-rent concept due to its severe housing shortage. 

Glasgow is on the River Clyde, and his great transport links to the rest of Scotland and the UK, with two large train stations, an airport and bus services. There is also an underground train system which locals use to get around the city. 

Glasgow was voted “World's Friendliest City 2022” by Time Out Magazine, and it is indeed known for its friendly locals. It is a lively and eclectic nightlife scene and there are lots of festivals and big events on throughout the year including TRNSMT Festival, Riverside Festival, The Irn Bru Carnival and the Merchant City Festival to name a few. 

Glasgow also had a huge student population with four top universities and several colleges. There are more than 70,000 students studying in the city.

Glasgow does well in retaining its graduates and attracts professionals to move to the city as there are some great employment opportunities in various fields - from finance, energy and technology, engineering and satellites to life science and pharmaceutical research, software and digital technology. Many businesses have set up a base in Glasgow including Barclays who launched their new campus in 2021. BTR will be crucial in addressing the housing shortage in Glasgow, providing the professional population with modern, tech-savvy and full furnished new build rental apartments.

Build to Rent is fast becoming an ever growing sector and Kosy Co Living will be within the heart of it. We launched our portfolio in early 2022, unveiling a £1billion development pipeline. As our pipeline grows we are looking to forward fund our larger schemes within the build to rent sector. We have commercial property investments build to rent opportunities for forward funding, equity partners, joint ventures, unconditional funding partners and planning uplift partners. We have opportunities for joint ventures with equity partners as we obtain planning permission with a view to sell or re-finance at PC. We are also sometimes presented with great opportunities for developers where the land owner needs an immediate sale and we are looking to partner with investors who would fund this type of project.
